Lettering styles

Our years of experience have shown us what types of lettering work best with the different styles and colours of stone. Here are some examples:

Fonts like Old English and Commercial script look best on black and dark coloured granites, particularly when Gilded (gold leaf).

Gilt used is always 23 carat loose leaf gold.

On lighter granites we recommend a bolder font with black enamel lettering

We recommend lead filled letters on marble memorials. This will last up to 15 years before any renovation work is needed.

Enamel letters on marble will only last between 3-5 years before they need repainting
